Freebie Friday

Very Mary believes that every girl should have a little bit of crystalline glimmer for the holidays, so today she's offering up a bit of handmade holiday bling. The fishhooks & findings are made of sterling silver and the swarovski crystal beads shimmer in the light - a deep purple to contrast against the white of winter snow. She'll also send these beauties to you with a business card and wrapped for gift-giving, just in case you'd like to pass them on as a present!

To win, please leave a comment about your favorite holiday tradition (or non-tradition). Congrats to Courtney! You have new bling to wear to that party!

Heee, I'm first. I love being first and those earrings are just my style.

Tradition? We aren't a very traditional family and have done away with most of them. We do have home made enchilades evey Christmas eve tho.

we have a few traditions but our favorite is to take the kids out to a Children's holiday play followed by dinner out (or lunch). We try to go to the last showing on Christmas Eve if possible. The kids love getting all dolled up.

Favorite holiday tradition? Hmmmm.... when I was younger and living at home it was getting up early and checking out the contents of my stocking.

Now it's wrapping presents on Christmas Eve with DH (his request) while we watch A Christmas Story.

Those are gorgeous earrings and if I won them I would give them to a girlfriend at our Rose Sisterhood Christmas exchange.

My favorite tradition -- decorating the tree with our favorite ornaments, while listening to the Charlie Brown Christmas music.

I'm unoriginal but I love them all - making butter almond toffee and cheese straws, getting a live tree, hanging Christmas stockings on the mantle. I'm a sucker for the holidays.

Ooh! Lovely earrings!

I love the baking traditions of the holidays. Every year I bake over 1000 cookies to give as gifts to friends and family. I don't see it as work, but something I truly enjoy and now, even more so with the help of my kids.

My mom traditionally boils over the potatoes, burns the marshmallos on the sweet potatoes, and forgets to put the cranberry sauce (from a can, of course) on the table until after we've already sat down. She also traditionally cooks an awesome meal chock full of love.

My favorite holiday tradition...We keep it very simple. Every Christmas Eve we take the kids ice skating in the city then we come home and curl up on the couch in front of a roaring fire with cocoa and watch favorite christmas movies from when my husband and I were kids. It's the best christmas tradition ever!

Oh how pretty - I hope I win!
Let's see, favorite tradition: we open all of our gifts on Christmas Eve while sipping spiked eggnog. Ha...VERY spiked sometimes!
On Christmas morning, we only have our stockings - but stockings are fun too as we wrap everything individually. I'm not sure why our family started opening all of our gifts on Christmas Eve but I guess it had to do with Santa. Even though all the kids are grown, we've still kept this tradition.

Oh...those earring are lovely...I'd look very nice in them, I do believe!! :-D

Traditions are hard to keep over here as Thanksgiving and Christmas are just "regular days" here...I have to work very hard to keep any kind of tradition going.
I always decorate the house...sometimes, I go overboard, but...that's okay. I buy 2 new special ornaments everyear for the boys to take with them if/when they ever move to their own place.
I always have a turkey and dressing for dinner or lunch...usually we invite some friends over.
And my favorite is to give our neighbors a Christmas goodie plate full of brownies, cookies, pumpkin bread and other things...at first they were shocked, but now, they wait for it...sometimes even ask when it's going to be delivered!! I love it!!!
Have a great weekend!!

I think my favorite Christmas tradition is every year the first thing my sister and I do is open up our stockings. Even though we are in our 20's our parents still put things in our stockings for us. Then we all sit by the tree and open up our presents. Christmas is my favorite time of the year.

Those earrings are gorgeous!! I would love to wear them to a Christmas party this year.

My favourite holiday tradition has to be watching The Grinch Who Stole Christmas! It brings me right back to my childhood everytime. :)

How pretty! We always go to respective parents' for holidays so don't really have our very own traditions for holidays--except that we always decorate our house while we drink champagne! And one year we stayed home for Christmas and went for a wild and wooly walk on the beach followed by huge mugs of hot chocolate with whipped cream...ah...

A family tradition for us is to serve homemade macaroni and cheese on Christmas Day no matter where we are or what we do, we always have the mac and cheese.

Since it's usually just my husband and I on Christmas Eve, we like to go see a fun holiday movie ... or stay at home and watch Home For the Holidays on DVD.

My favorite tradition has to be the gift for baby Jesus. Each year as a family no matter how poor we are (last year hubby has no job) we take back the bottle return money, empty all the coin jars and come up with dollar amount. Then the kids discuss who they know that mosts needs a gift! After they decide we put the gathered money into a gift card and mail it-with no return address and a simple card that says- Do unto others....

Then we write the amount and put it in a card under the Christmas tree- Our gift of giving to others is our gift to Jesus.

ooooo - those are beautiful!
My favorite holiday tradition would have to be the Christmas Pickle we hide on the tree every year. Growing up we always had a Christmas Pickle - whichever of us 3 girls found the pickle got an extra gift. I still, to this day - and I am 45 years young now... buy Christmas Pickles for all my new friends - so they can carry on my silly Christmas Pickle tradition!
**Three cheers for the Christmas Pickle!**

...pick me! pick me!

Probably too late, but my favorite holiday tradition is putting up the decorations with Christmas music playing and a Yankee candle evergreen candle burning. The house becomes a glowing, glittering wonderland for a month. I absolutely love it!!!
