See that shelf? That shelf there to the left? The one there in the picture with one measly piece of fabric on it? Then see that big-ass pile there on the right? The one comprised of hundreds of yards of fabric? Well, all that fabric there on the right used to be on that shelf there on the left. And then I remembered I had some shamrock fabric.
But I couldn't find it when it was neatly stacked there on the shelf with the other tidy stacks of fabric, the fabric that is now currently on the right. For some reason while searching for the shamrock fabric, I thought it might be fun to pull out all of the fabric and reacquaint myself with it. That was until all that fabric ended up in that big-ass pile there on the right.
And there I was underneath that pile and (I know, I know, this is going to sound unbelievable) I couldn't get the cabinet door shut again. And I couldn't get around the cabinet door to slide out from under the large pile of fabric because, well, there's a wall just opposite the cabinet. Finally, after spending a few long minutes feeling incredibly stupid calculating my wall to door ratio, I did it. I wiggled on out of there, scraping my back only a little and losing only one shoe. And then, yes then, of course then, I forgot to bring that damn shamrock fabric out of there with me.
Is it any wonder that I just left the whole stupid pile and the open cabinet door? Big sigh. I'll deal with it tomorrow.

Tomorrow is another day...

Mary:
Take heed! When the pile traps you in a room, you are entering HOARDING territory.
Sincerely,
A KINCERNED Friend
Exactly how high is that pile? Anywho... good luck getting back into the room! I don't see very much orange or yellow in that pile, missy.
haha...I wish I could be buried under paper..lotsa pretty paper :P
-.-"
I think you just described a "i love lucy" episode :) Glad to hear you survived!
Shall I send Molly to the rescue? Or shall I just laugh as I remeber the wading through the fabric to find a piece episode at my house.
I think you may have sent me the shamrock fabric. Want me to look? Will you call Emergency Services if I don't show up for a day? You see my fabric pile is every bit as massive as yours and then some.
Oh no, VQ, rest assured that I had more of that fabric, and I did find it. It's just that I didn't bring it with me when I escaped from the jaws of the fabric pile.
Hostage Taking Fabric. Who knew?
Darla
I laughed! I'm so sorry! (Sort of) :D
classic, i can just picture it in my head. hey i have some shamrock trim i'd love to share, wants some???
Oh my gosh, you sound alot like me when I know that I have a certain something (fabric, yarn, paper, embellishment...) and I start my quest with that one item in mind and then begin to play with all the other wonderful supplies that I have and before you know it the time flies by and you have a mess that you just don't have time to take care at that moment. Glad to hear someone else does this kind of stuff. Can't wait to see the shamrock project.
Very Mary has fallen and she can't get up...I'm on my way!
